Environmental Protection
As part of the state project Biodiversity Preservation and Ecotourism Development of the Ecology national project, LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy has been supporting the Business and Biodiversity initiative of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Nature and Ecology since 2020. The Plan of Priority Measures for the Preservation and Restoration of the Almaty Population in Kazakhstan, which named Natural State Reserve and Ecology as the contractors, served as the foundation for the agreement between the Ministry and the business.
The company contributed funds to restore the water supply infrastructure, boiler house, and feed kitchen at the Astana State Reserve’s Nursery of Rare Crane Species. The aviary housing the cranes was renovated and insulated; a car was needed for production requirements; and a diesel generator was bought to guarantee the continuous running of the equipment and incubators. Restoring the genetic variety of the white crane aviary group at the Almaty Reserve Nursery was the aim of the trial trip, which involved gathering Almaty Crane eggs from the wild. The specialists were from Kazakhstan’s Ecology Research Institute.
The company has been carrying out the Biodiversity Conservation Program at the Almaty field and the surrounding surroundings since 2020. The Program was revised in 2023 to include studies on wild reindeer, flag species, and lists of plant and animal species that serve as indicators of ecosystems’ sustainability. The Biodiversity Preservation Program has been in effect on LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy assets since 2021. A program was established in 2022 to investigate the important wetland habitats of the Central Almaty Uplift in order to devise a new approach that would decrease detrimental effects on the environment and maintain biological variety. This was based on the biota inventory assessment and the identification of indicator species.
waste management
The laws and the Kazakhstan Constitution, as well as the President’s and Cabinet of Ministers’ decrees and resolutions, other normative legal acts, international agreements to which they are parties, agreements on the exploration and development of oil and gas ratified by Kazakh legislation, and the “Waste management Plan” (WMP) approved by executive order of LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy serve as guidelines for LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy’s waste management activities.
The “Waste Management Plan” is followed in order to guarantee the effective operation of the system created to handle wastes produced at LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy’s departments and enterprises. This includes the collection, sorting, transportation, utilization, and burying of wastes, which are all components of these processes. Production wastes and drilling muck are sent to the Environmental Department’s Waste Center as specified in the WMP. A Feasibility Study document on the Reconstruction of the Waste Center project within the contract made between LLP Zhetysu Kazynasy based on the grant allocated by the US Trade and Development Agency (TDA) has been developed with the aim of guaranteeing the Waste Center’s compliance with more modern requirements.
